Checked out a few innings of NCSU vs. Elon today. State won 1st game 5-0. Did not stay for game 2.

Pack looks good, & I notice some lineup changes from last year that affected returning starters.

And see several commitments of NC players coming in future to State.

    question

I noticed on the Central Cabarrus HS softball website there's a picture of several girls from the '06 class that had signed to play college ball, including Lauren Sparger to NCSU.

I don't see her name listed on State's '07 roster on the gopack.com website. Is she being red-shirted or something?

Where are they playing their home games? I know we've still got their new home under about 9 inches of mud.

    BM,
When is the NEW softball complex "supposed" to be completed? Also, when do you think it will "realistically" be completed? Sounds like you're familiar with the project....
BTW, I think they're playing their homegames at Walnut Creek....

I honestly don't know. I know our portion of the work on the softball field is done (we've still got a crew working over on Derr track), but there's plenty to do after we get out. It was orginally supposed to be complete for the start of this season, but was held up for quite a while before work even began. Purely speculation on my part, but I'd say it's going to be at least another 6 weeks or so before they're ready to play ball over there. And I could be way off - I havent actually been on site since about the first week of our construction (mid November).

    Good Pics!

Thanks, EOR...great pics. Gotta feel for the 9 seniors that will never get to say that they ever had a "true" home field advantage. They've had a heckuva run in laying the foundation for that program. Hopefully, Coach can bring 'em in even better once the stadium is done....it looks like its going to be a nice complex.

Any idea of who's coming in to pitch? Losing Sims and Ervin is going to hurt!
Lots of talented seniors on that roster....know what I mean?
