    (actually, it was the South Canes. Seems there was some confusion to it).

    Cubs lose a tuff one to SC Panthers 3-2 in the final game of the day.. nice rally at the end, put just couldn't grab the W

    Cubs had some good looking kids this weekend. I was happy to see Tanner Merritt back in good shape. He threw as well as anyone I saw. He and his JH Rose teammates, Chase McDonald(1b) and Patrick Roy(C) give Rose a good crew to to work around, and make another title run. When McDonald gets just a little more adjustment to better quality pitching(he played jv last year), he's going to be a monster at the plate. Might be a good idea to call Jeff May and find out how to handle getting, "pitched around" cause I see it coming. I'll go ahead and tell Coach Smith at Rocky Mount so he'll know(LOL!). Merritt is going to make a splash this year. Mark it down. Also, the Cranmer(?) kid from Croatan was pretty impressive.
