What are the odds that West Rowan wins the state title?

West Rowan has currently outscored opponents: 216- 39 in their first five wins, the closest game was against Davie County, and in reality it shouldn't have been that close. I want to know what some of ya'll think about West's Odds. They are currently ranked 2nd in the 3A polls behind Greensboro Dudley. This may be the best team West has ever had. Do they have a chance?

 

I think they have a real good chance! All depends on if they end up small 3a or large 3a! They only teams that I see that could pose a problem are Charleston Catholic,Dudley and Parkland.

 

I guess since the NPC lost Kannapolis someone else can win the title...

i figure the chance of winning the state title is far less than winning in that weak conference and the weak non conference schedule .

Running the score up on teams like south rowan, east rowan, n rowan and salisbury doesnt guarantee a title.. :imagestor

although i am a big fan of Wade Moore ...

 

WR will most likely go 3AA, thats where they've been the past few years. I saw Dudley play Crest in the 3AA Title game last year. They are blessed with loads of talent and gave Crest all they could handle.....ask smash. The only problem is that they dont two-platoon and they wore down in the second half vs. Crest and the game got away from them. Dudley also went into Southern Durham and knocked them off in the playoffs and I think they were ranked 1 or 2 at the time. I saw WR play Parkland last year as well and have been very familiar with them through the years. WR led much of the game and should have beaten Parkland but it just didnt happen. Im not ready to hand them the title but they will be a factor......lots of things can happen when the belts tighten up. I'll probably go to their games when the post season begins because we may not get there ourselves this time.

 

Don't know if you knew it but when West Rowan played Davie County. DC's best player was suspeneded for that game. Not sure of his name but he is the running back. I was covering the game on the sidelines that night and I was told this before the game started while I was on the Davie side.

I too am a WR supporter and Wade Moore is the real deal...Can't believe he is going to NC State to play baseball. Well yes I can! Wade is a phenomenal athlete! Chances of winning the state????You know the saying..I'd rather be lucky than good.....well we ALL know West is good...less hope they are lucky and good!!!!When it gets to the Western semis and finals...You will find great teams just like West and it doesn't take be a few mistakes at this point to lose a game.....I'll be covering the championships again this year and I for one hope I'm covering WestRowan vs the East Champions...

So I guess that would be like playing without Wade Moore against Davie???

Still not taking anything away from their victory over Davie County. You have to play with what you bring to the table.

Maybe this is a point I was talking about in the category of being lucky and good....lol

I do think this could be West Rowans' year in football...They do have the whole package to win it all..I really like Coach Young and know him personally. He is the total package when it come to coaching...

 

W Rowan sounds really good - and they probably have as good a chance as any to make it from the West - I can't imagine anybody from the East that can beat Dudley the way they are playing. Last season's Dudly team had a mediocre offense and this season they are piling on the points. They have good athletes, a good coach and play good competition.

 

I certainly think that WR is a great football team, but I think the cream of the crop in 3AA will be Dudley and Parkland. If Crest isn't in 3AA the last 2 years those are the top dogs. We've seen it before where a team plays great in the regular season, having their best season ever, only to tighten up in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs when they get a close game. I hope good things for them though, because Parkland and Dudley are not my favorite squads.

 

Davie should've won. WR got a gift td,and Davie's starting tailback was out that game. WR has a good team, but I wouldn't get fitted for the crown just yet, Very weak schedule.
