WFC World Series - whiff

Just finished up at the WFC World Series, our girls took 2nd place. My thoughts on the event, just speaking from a personal experience as a parent:

*Disorganized- opening ceremonies were a train wreck

*worst umps ever witnessed- we played 9 games, maybe 1 game had adequate umps. Rules changed game to game. Pet peeve- don't raise your arm as if you are calling an out and then change it to safe, and vice-versa. If you are over 70 yrs old, quit umping. You could of grabbed dads out of the stands and had far superior umping and EFFORT. It costs a boatload of money to make the trek, buy food, yada yada yada...the umps should take the competition seriously and get their lazy rumps in position to make a call.

*lousy mgmt- 2 separate incidents where a director (platinum highlighted hair and bluetooth) antagonized a team and/or parents and made sticky situations worse with his poor attitude instead of a reassurance of fairness. Word spread quickly too that a team was 30 minutes late one day, and all games were moved back for them. (this is unconfirmed, I'd love to hear the reason)

*dirty- trash everywhere, nuff said.

*lousy concessions- long lines, out of product, feel free to open another line or trailer.

....should of gone to Columbus

 

Rules change from week to week in WFC.

 

Amen brother worst we have seen

 

Played with every organization over the many years and non of the others compared to NSA. Especially in NC. Best run, best umps nice facilities and great people. Only complaint exspect the game garuantee to be 1 less than advertised. 4gg always ends up 3, 5gg ends up 4. Don't know why this happens and they do adjust entry fees to the final gg but still need to stay with what is advertised. Still best allround organization IMO

The Salt City Stealers (Albany, NY) and the Flames (NC) were playing in Championship game when we left.

Carolina Comets 12 U finished 2nd. Congrats to them. Way to Go Comets.
This team is coached by Roger McGuffy. Woo Hoo.

 

The 8u Charlotte Blaze finished 2nd also.We got into the losers bracket early and fought our way back five games on Saturday to end up losing in the championship.My girls gave it all for two innings in the final game and they just didn't have anything left in the tank.The umpires were horrible they dont even have to wear gear in an 8u game and they couldn't get any calls right.We had a ball hit to left field on us that was clearly 2 ft foul and the surfer dude director with the bluetooth watching from the bleachers along with the 99 year old head ump.I thought he was going to have to call for an armored car to get out of there.We did have two games that were call great out of nine.
