So far a couple things have cought my attention in the NW4A. East Burke might be better than was advertised. A win over Newton Conover this week would confirm that they are a pretty good team. Another thing that has stood out is McDowell's lack of success. I had heard and read on this board that the Titans were much improved this year. I know the fans in Marion have to be dissappointed so far.

    1. Don't tell me that driving two hours up to Boone will be the same as staying at home in Asheville, playing on grass rather than turf, etc. while it's often overrated home field does exist.

    2. The 0-1 record of ARC and Watauga the 0-2 at McDowell, Alexander putting up 41 on stephens, overall it seems like there may not be a doormat in the conf this year, and likewise it seems possible that nobody will run away with it either.

I would agree with you in most cases here, but I don't think it holds true completely. Some stadiums can get extremely loud. I've seen more than one instance where teams have trouble calling plays and/or hearing the cadence at Catholic (especially in big games such as when they play Country Day). Maybe it is just at that place. I'm sure it is tough when Rock Hill and Northwestern play at District 3 stadium as well although it is a neutral crowd.
