Watch out for Watauga this year. Although they lost about half of their blocking that helped them make it to the final 4 last year, all of their position players are coming back. Both starting QB's, most starting wide receivers, need i say anything about their running back Mr. Breitenstein? Eric has gotten alot bigger this year as well while cutting down his 40 time. He is gonna be tough to handle once again in 07-08. Also Ive heard rumors that an all conference center is transferring here for football next year. Had a chance to meet him the other day and trust me he will be a big influence in the blocking for Eric. Watch out for these guys they are gonna be tough again also boosting up their out of conference schedule intensely. This could be another trip back to the final 4. Who else is looking strong starting out this season? Could there be another AC/Watauga showdown in the postseason this year. How about Freedom and Alexander? and from other conferences who is looking strong?

WHS lost offensive lineman Chris Clawson, Creston Triplett, Jo-El Dollar and Will Davis. Will will walk on at Wofford this year and play tightend. However WHS has brought in a transfer center who is a horse and will start (more on him later). He was all-conference in his league. However im not sure what the league was.

WHS and Eric will be tough this year as well. I think it will come down to the winner of ACR and WHS at the end of the year to determine that champion.

However WHS must take it one game at a time. Every Friday is for a league championship. Cannot overlook anyone.

Ragsdale returns all their O-line, QB and several skill positions. They should be better.

Yes. Mitchell Harris was #39. He has signed to play football at Catawba College next season. He caught 2 passes for 50 yards. 86 tackles, 18.5 for loss, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

However WHS returns its top 2 tacklers.

Sept 28th when the Golden Lions climb the hill to Boone should be an interesting game.

Already alot of hype about the golden lions coming up. Alot of students chatting about it. Alot of people near Watauga getting excited about football. Returning football players are starting to feel it a little bit. Going to be alot of support again this year. Every home game is going to be an advantage for Watauga. First couple of games last year were a little weak with the crowd. But since that they have been one of the best crowds in the state. Hope the Golden Lions are ready... its gonna get real rowdy in "The House That Breitenstein Built" on Sep. 28th.

i liked the new traditions at watauga, hells bells, the entry through the crowd made that stadium way louder than any crowd that size i ever saw, the costumes. they even had a shuttle running people to parking at the boone mall because the crowds got that big! and i hear this year ACR is on schedual as homecoming, is that true? if so thats one game i would not miss! i cant wait to hear the bells start off a new season of pioneer football!!

ACR is the last game of the season, senior night in Boone. Homecoming is October 5 when McDowell comes to town.

PS: If you thought the traditions and stuff that made it more like a college atmosphere were great last year, man are you in for a treat this season.

More details once we get it finalized.
