USSSA NC SOFTBALL - reply

I had often wonderd why so many good softball complex's went virtually unused in the triangle area, but it looks like all that is going to change now. Would be good to see some softball growth in the area. I posted earlier to the masses regarding an inquiry as to the current status of USSSA Softball in North Carolina, figuring someone on this message board might know something. I recieved the information from USSSA East Coast Regional Director Bill Dowell and thought I would share it with everyone. ......We are indeed moving towards bringing USSSA back into the fold in North Carolina. We had some personnel issues in the past that stunted our growth there, but we're in the process now of righting the ship. We have an area director, Joe Hill, who has been able to reserve a number of parks for tournaments and I'm in the process now of locating and appointing directors to handle many of those events. My ultimate goal, of course, is to recruit and retain a qualified person to fill the state director's position...... Once that happens I believe our program in North Carolina will really take off.......it's critical to me personally and our overall program in general that I find the right people to guide the state.....
