You are correct. Hard to believe a team as strong as they are would be sent home so quickly. They lost their last 3 games of the year...all tournament games. 1 in the ACC tournament and 2 in the NCAA regional. I am not knocking Campbell, but how does a team like UNC give up 7 runs to them with the absolutely lights out pitching staff that UNC has. I wasn't at the games...hopefully someone who was can tell us a little about what happened.

It seems ( to me, not a fact ) like the smaller d1 schools are starting to play the larger schools more closely than in the past. I think if for instance if UNC and Campbell played 5 straight games Campbell may win one but the other four would be closer than they use to be. I believe schools like Campbell are starting to get some of the more talented girls because some are choosing to go to a smaller d1 school to start playing as freshmen instead of having to wait 2-3 years to play if at all. Also looked on Campbells website out of curiosity and they are loosing only one girl and had 40+ wins. But agree with you about Carolina should have won that regional

    Errors will kill you.....

at any level. Carolina committed 6 errors in the game....hard to compete with good players when you make that many mistakes. You have to remember that the girls on Carolina's team and the girls on Campbell's team played travel ball against each other for years and some kids would rather be at a Campbell rather than a Carolina. I don't think there is much of difference in the talent level among most of the players, but Carolina proved that you cannot make that many mistakes and beat anybody.

Congratulations to Campbell for a great win! You beat the good teams by putting pressure on the defense and forcing the mistakes.

    I congratulate Campbell but

UNC played CU early in the season and run-ruled them 2X outscoring them 21-0. I think both games may have been no-hitters. There is a rather large talent gap between the two programs. That said, Campbell certainly came to play last week. I think UNC was lulled to sleep by their prior success against the Camels. I never noted any sense of urgency in the heels in either the BYU or Campbell game. That's hard to explain.
