What a year for Lumberton HS

I was visiting my parents in Bladenboro for Mother's Day. I read in the Fayetteville Observer one of the best stories of the year. I couldn't find it on line or I would have posted the link. Written by Earl Vaughan Jr.,this article talked about the trials that Lumberton Head Coach Paul Hodges has faced this season with his daughter who is challenged with Cebral Palsy (I believe) and his wife who is battling cancer. Yet his team is having a super year, due to the fact that his coaches and the community have pulled together to stand behind this family...

Sounds like the kind of fairy-tale story that playoff dreams are made of.

    Good luck Coach!!!

    Coach Hodges

Actually, his daughter has suffered from Cerebral Palsey since being born very premature twelve years ago. His wife has been battling cancer now for about seven years. Strong, amazing family as I never hear them complain about the hand life has dealt them. Please keep this family in your prayers. Here is the link to the story:

Thanks for the correction, I was touched by the story, but my memory is fading... I was touched by the story and the man whom I hear is a fine person and coach.
