Trouble at East Gaston

    They had 4 starters quit the team at halftime of the their game vs East Lincoln. I even heard that some of the fans gave them an ovation when they did it. Now their best defensive player is out for the season with an injury. I was at the East Gaston/West Charlotte game last year. Even though East Gaston lost you felt they finally had it going in the right direction. Less than a year later with a new coach it looks like the wheels are falling off the bus.

    Anybody that quits on their teammates and coaches in the middle of a game needs to keep moving along and not let the door hit you in the butt. I wouldn't want them. If they came back their teammates would forever have to wonder if they would quit on them again.

    There has been somethings going on since summer. I have talked with some folks that said it was just a matter of time. One of the kids that quit was Abernathy. He was the FB last year and rushed for a 1000 yrds. The new coach was wanting to play him at LB'er and didn't use him on offense. I think that was something that Abernathy's dad and him had questions about. It just kept building and building till it popped Friday night.
