Third Base Side or First Base Side? (For Dugouts)

    If I'm coaching 3rd I like the 3rd base dugout, if I'm coaching 1st I like the 1st base dugout. Oops I forgot why, I'm getting old, don't have to walk as far, but I'm sure others will have better reasoning than I have.

    Always an issue for me. I also like to get the side the concession stand is on. But strictly for the benefit of our fans :xyzthumbs

    in the cooler months, I'd like the side in the sun. In the warmer months, the side in the shade. :thinking:

    Some coaches actually prefer one side to another due to the layout of the facilities, proximity of the fans, or just plain superstition. For me, if I am coaching 3rd, then I prefer the 3rd base dugout because it puts me closer to my players to discuss a situation. HOwever, with a good asst coach, having the dugout on the 1st base side allows him to deal with preplanned substitutions, and allows me to concentrate more on the game.

    I need all the concentration I can get!!!!!!!!

    Doesn't take......

    a rocket scientist! Which is the LARGEST, WARMEST, MOST COMFORTABLE etc... However, in some cases there is a HUGGGGEEEEE lack of rocket scientists in this profession!??!??? Often times NEW coaches will make a change in gugout venues just to put their "stamp" on the program... UNFORTUNATELY it comes as a disappointment at the former coaches hard work, effort, and dedication to the program! How sad............ :huh: :huh: :huh: :nono: :nono: :nono: :thinking: :thinking: :teeth: :teeth: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :confused: :confused: :confused:
