for all it is worth here is the final fate of the ball:
NEW YORK(AP) The ball Barry Bonds hit for his record-breaking 756th home run will be branded with an asterisk and sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame, its owner said Wednesday.

Not to say it is right but the fans decided its fate and in this country majority rules.:th_90edab00:

Thats great and but they don't need to put an asterisk on it. Just send it there and let it be. If he ever does get connected with steroids then they will remove from there. It's a piece of baseball history and they shouldn't mess it up by putting an asterisk on there.

The hall stated that they are glad to have it for that reason it is a piece of history. I would be a nice side story down the road. I think that in the next hundred years the game will though changes. It may or may be an issuse then. Who knows? Better there than lost for all time.

I agree with you Plate dad. He may have disgraced the game but don't ruin a piece of history. The fact a individual can hit that many home runs is impressive within itself, with or without the help of steroids. You still have to hit and he did that pretty good.

I saw that in USA Today. The fans HAVE spoken. And the fans are not judge and jury. While many of us have our suspisions, it's not our place to decide Barry's fate.

Not about him. It was about what the fans wanted to happen to the ball. It could be in space. For that matter the guy could have thrown it in a pit and buried it with Hoffa. What, how or who. The truth will come out in time if is meant to. I would think that the last one he hits out would hold more value. Funny what money can buy!!!!:laugh4:

my 6 cents. (I think thats the # Im on)

No we the fans are not judge and jury. But I did wonder wouldn't it be cool if the ball was taken aboard the shuttle and one of the astronauts hurled it into space? I mean we could all be wondering where it is or how far it had gone in say 20 years. IMO:patriot:

The problem is fans don't appreciate what the piece of history means, they just know who did it so they want to get back at him.
