Can someone tell me which team-the blues or the cardinals is the best to get your dd seen , and before everyone starts by saying you need to do your work first, I mean just by the luck of the draw which one would you stand a better chance of being seen with at a tournament.

There are many other organizations other than the Blues / Cardinals..for IE. "Flames" , "Curve", "Dominators", "Cobras" , "Denver Dazzle" , "Cape Fear Storm", "Wildcats", "Storm" , N.C. Sun Devils, just to mention a few have all signed girls to play D1,D2,D3 colleges out of N.C......All have great coaches ,and care about the girls.............I hope this helps !!

Mom, Dad, and DD ALL must help and do their part to make things happen. DD needs to keep her grades up and have a great attitude, Mom and Dad gather info and work with the coach of choice to network for the best results.

amen! NOTHING is more important than recruiting the school yourself! You should NOT go to any showcase in the "ing" mode... waiting, wishing, hoping to be seen. Way to many girls and their families operate this way. If parents are going to spend time and resources to play travel ball the least the DD should do is her part in e mailing coaches schedules. As a matter of fact they should be using ANY and EVERY excuse to send a coach an e mail.. get a good grade on a test: send an e mail... elected president of the Spanish Club: send an e mail... get asked to the prom: send an email! (well not really but you get the idea). You cannot send too many e mails!! You will not become a pest and dont be concerned if you dont hear back!! Coaches want girls that want to play for them and their college. They dont want to invest time and money recruiting a kid who may go elsewhere or who may want to transfer a year after they are recruited.


I will say from personal experience that playing for an organization with a reputation is an asset... not make or break necessarily but it does add more to the pot.

If you are trying to choose please ask the coach what role they take in the recruiting process. I know for a fact that some take a much more proactive approach than others. Some of the top organizations in the country do very little in terms of contacting colleges. IMHO it is better to have more people working for you.

If you are a young lady out there and have a dream of playing in college please listen to what I have said. This is coming from our own experiences and it is working.

Others: Triangle Lighting and Lady Lighting,Challengers, SC Bandits they go to Boulder and the ASA Nationals and run several tourneys.

No doubt they are 2 of the elite programs in NC.

Hey guys,
There are many programs here in the state who work hard for their girls. I, myself, would not say that the Blues or the Cards corner the market on college bound players. We, like many of the other teams in NC, just try to put our kids in situations where they can perform in front of who they need to perform for. That gets them the looks. Being at the right place at the right time. I ,along with my players, contact the coaches to let them know where the right place will be.
I don't take credit for the kids who play for me, getting a deal at a particular college. The kid is the one who must catch their eye and perform for the college coach. I just get them to the dance so to speak, its up to them to get on the floor.
I do appreciate the flattering comments though. It makes me blush!

 

Humble Guy !!

I've known Rick for years,but never really talked to him on a personal basis, and finally had the chance to talk to him at S.C. Upstate about 3 weeks ago...great guy with a vision, and really wants to see the girls get to the Next Level.....but so do most of the rest of the coaches of these showcase teams......so the coaches get a little glory in what they do..it takes long hours and hard work they deserve it !!!!
