    Midsoutheastern Preview:

Britt: Will be very young this season. They came off a 7-14 record last season. Look for them to struggle this year, but should be gaining respectability by next season. In two years, they could be a contender and a major force. It depends on how quickly their young sophomores develop.

Byrd: Good nucleus returning. Unknown pitching depth. Should be middle of the pack.

Hoke County: Thomas (Sr) and Quicks (Jr) will have to carry the pitching duties early. Fast team who could upset others. Look for them to be a surprise and contend for a top-3 spot.

Pinecrest: Coming off a good season, they have really good nucleus in Eric Marrion, Taylor Norfleet and Brandon Cain. Question will be the pitching as it will predominately be juniors this year. They are going to hit. Look for them to possibly finish as high as 2nd.

Richmond: Had a 18-7 record. Kyle Roller (Jr) and Ben Billingsley will carry them early, but they are a bit young this season. May be a year away.

Scotland: Coming off a 19-6 season, they are returning a strong team. Parker Bangs and William Sunderland will be the core players this season. They have depth. Should have a lock on the #1 spot in the conference.

Seventy-First: Another young team this year as is most of the MSE conference. Seventy-First will struggle this season.

Westover: Had a tough year last year and are still very young. They could improve quite a bit with the new players coming in and still not have a great record.

    Projected finish:
    Scotland
    Richmond
    Pinecrest
    Hoke County

    Two Rivers Conference Preview

Cape Fear: 15-9 last season. Inexperienced at pitcher. Young. Will struggle.

Lumberton: 19-7 last season. They return about everyone and all of their pitching. They have the chance to be a spoiler in the east this season and could easily contend for a top-10 spot in the state. Look for them to make a run at the Championship. Watch Brandon Bryant and Alex Rogers.

Pine Forest: 18-8 last year. They were hit hard by graduation, but have known pitching returning. If the pitching holds, they could contend but offense will be a question at times.

Terry Sanford: Coming off a 10-14 campaign. They are returned very good depth and could challenge for a top-3 spot in the conference. D’Alessandro and Driggers will help provide the pitching and defense. This team should be very solid.

Smith: 8-15 last year. Could improve on the record of last year, but may end up being about a .500 team.

South View: Most of the pitching is moving up from the JV team. South View had a very good record last year, but should fall in the conference this season.

Purnell Swett: Coming off a 9-13 season, they are returning most of their players and have a strong group moving up. I expect that they are a year away, but could contend for a top-3 spot in the conference this year.

    Projected finish:
    Lumberton
    Terry Sanford
    Pernell Swett

I'll tell ya something. I loved watching everyone of those guys play. They play the game the right way. They are going to be fun to watch this year and the years to come.

But I don't see my buddy, Presnell, listed. Has he jumped HS and gone to college for the rest of the season:D

You gave him so much ink that he is already in Cooperstown. We'll miss him.
