Stretchlon Stars shine at Wesleyan showcase

    The Stretchlon Stars based out of Rocky Mount had a good weekend at the NC Wesleyan College showcase. The Stars lost a hard fought contest with the Prepstars 8-5. Joe Toler, Bradley Taylor & Alex Pearce led the Stars with 2 hits each. In game 2, Joe Wagstaff, Justin Deiner, & Chad Womble held the Dirtbags 17 to only 5 hits in a 6-4 win. Richard Wall & Brad Fletcher each had 2 hits. Daniel Rosoff led the Dirtbags 17 with 3 hits. In game 3 Sunday,Tarron Robinson & Caleb Shelton held the Dirtbags in check with strong pitching performances. The Dirtbags 17 were led by Tyler Hanover, 2-4 with a triple while Rosoff was 2-3. The Stars were led by Fletcher 2-3 with 3 rbi's, Edmond Gravely with a home run & 4 rbi's, & Pearce 2-4. The Stars next showcase is this weekend in Richmond, Virginia, which is sponsored by Perfect Game.

    I know that the Dirtbags were supposed to be using wood in this tournament in preparation for the WWB in Florida. Just wondering if all the teams used wood bats?
