Just wanted to say thank you to all of the people - the owners - coaches and fans - for this summer experience.

I have been around a bunch of summer leagues - and this was the best all around summer experience I have ever been through.

As a parent - it is very satisfying to see your son enjoy the summer experience.

The support of the coaches and the folks who established this team - and the fans who supported the team made this a summer to remember.

I wish I could have gone to all of the games - but every one I went to was 100% enjoyable - win or lose.

    Just a great experience.

    Thank you again Statesville Owls

Thanks Inny for those kind words. Let me first say that it was my treat watching and getting to know your son. He was the sparkplug on a talented team.

It was an amazing experience to watch this first year organization do so well on everything they did. On the field they competed every night and gave the fans something to be proud of...which led to the 2nd seed in playoffs under their first year.

The other point that was important to me was the genuine connection the players made with their fans. To watch the players immediately following a game, then go out and greet the families and sign autographs for as long as 45 minutes was worth every effort made this year to bring a team to Statesville. These boys became heroes to an area that needed that. At a time where the surrounding communities are growing while some businesses are leaving Statesville; it was a point of pride for the people to look at the players involved with the Owls and say, "They are mine, they made me proud....and they will be back!"

The first year Statesville Owls players may look back at many positive experiences that happened along the way, but the one thing, as they have a chance to reflect in their coming years, they most accomplished was helping to uplift a city and put it on their broad shoulders. It gave the city an identity. The players allowed the townsfolk to push out their chest a little bit and shout, "We are......the Statesville Owls!!!!":hurray:

That's the real story of this season.
