How did the SENIOR West squad do in their three game series and how did the individual players from Charlotte do? Also, how did the local guys do individually from the city in the underclassmen tourney?

Andy Partin has a great write-up on the stand-out players from each region over on his site at Impact Baseball. So far this morning, he's completed regions 1, 2 & 3.

You have to be a subscriber to his site to read any of it.
That means $48.95/per year to get a subscription.

That works out to about 1, 20 oz. soft drink a week at a convenience store.

The Senior West team lost the first two game before getting a win in the finale. Both games lost by the West were very close, especially the first one, where we lost by 1 run. Our pitchers all threw very well; it was the hitting that let us down the first two games. Josh Benton and Marcus Covington were the leading hitters for the West.

    State Games Region 8

The junior state games team from region 8 played well, but I haven't been able to find out any details. One player, Scott Russell from Asheville is a very good short stop, but dosen't get much attention. I would like to find out if anyone who saw them play has any insights on how he and region 8 did.
    Thanks

Region 8 played Region 6 on Saturday morning at Wake Forest. Region 6 won 6-3. Region 8 then defeated Region 7 in the Bonze Medal game on Sunday at Ernie Shore field.

I don't remember Scott Russell particulary, but substitutions were made pretty freely by most of the teams Region 6 played. Region 6 stayed with a 2 platoon system throughout the week, playing one group 4 innings and the next group 3. Then swapping in the next game.

I do remember Taylor from McDowell started the game for Region 8 against Region 6 and was touched for 3 runs. Then a pitcher from Tuscola ( I think) came in and surrendered 3 more.
