Spartans continuing careers

    A trio of Sun Valley Spartans have signed to continue their baseball careers.

    Starting pitcher Steven Blythe signed with Catawba Valley CC this spring after a productive senior season in which he logged 73 innings on the hill.

    MIF/Pitcher Chris Timberlake signed with Surry CC to play next year. Kudos to the staff there; after Chris sustained a season ending ACL tear in the conference title game, they kept their word and gave Chris an opportunity.

    Finally, OF/Pitcher Austin Smith signed with Stanly CC after attending one of their open workouts in the spring.

    Congratulations to these three young men as they begin a new chapter of their lives.
