I am looking for help on good websites to use to post individual and team stats as well as pictures/videos from the games for the girls to check out. I started to use teamlobby.com which would be perfect, but I don't think they are still in business. Any suggestions???

Something looks a little fishy with the way it calculates OBP, if you ask me. I can't see all the raw stats, but there are at least two that I don't think are right.

I was only making a suggestion about a website. Why does some people have to be a critic. But since you inquired, OBP calculates a couple of different ways; either including getting on base by errors or not. You can set it up either way. Coaches think differently when it comes to this.

What is the other one you inquired about?

It really gets to me that people volunteer their time, but parents (and you know who you are) and fans always find a way to complain about something! Coaches and other volunteers give up their time and energy for your kids, and they always find a negative in what they are doing. I jus don't get it!

    Personally !!

I wouldn't put a kids stats out for the public to see. I would just send it to perspective coaches to view !!

You're getting a small taste of what a coach feels. Many are volunteers and many that do receive small stipends donate it back to their team. They give their time and energy everyday for your DD, yet many times a parent(s) wants to criticize or 2nd guess everything they do. When you can figure out why, you will have the answer to your question.

Having said that, I don't believe MCJeffers was intending to criticize, but was trying to figure out how it works....big difference.

Sorry for the defensive mode, but I have gotten attack before, because little Sally Sue should have gotten a hit instead of being on base because of an error. I took MCJeffers statement wrong and I apologize.

No hard feelings on this end.

Different people do calculate stats different ways. And it was hard for me to find good definitions of some standard stats when I started looking 8 years ago. (Things are better now.) I try to note if I'm doing something somewhat non-standard (I used to calculate ERA5, meaning based on 5 inning games back in middle school).

I also agree that I would avoid posting aggregated player statistics, for lots of reasons. I obviously make them available to the coaching staff. I will give each player's stats to the player or her parents. But making them public can fuel parents perceptions of injustice to their DD, when their DD has "better" stats than another player in a percieved "better" position. Also, it can aid opponents in scouting.

    You Been Around TO ???

I've been doing this for about 12 plus years, and you are exactly right, if parents would be happy instead of jealous of little Suzy then I would have to say it would be alright to post !! My DD can play with the rest of them, and the people that know her know what quality ball player she is without posting her stats. I know neither party meant anything by what was implied, but posting stats isn't a good idea it will cause negative wildfire in the community !!
