Jeez Braves, i'm not knocking the product. The product being showcase. It does what it is intended to do. It's a more convenient avenue for college coaches to see more kids in a shorter period of time. Showcase is a great business idea. I expect it will grow until the next avenue comes along. Just like any business, things evolve. This will too.

Lots of good schools out there that are not D1. Anyone ever hear of Lehigh, Bucknell, maybe a William and Mary?

I'm convinced my son's education will carry him a lot farther than his sports abilities. If we get surprised then thats great but we're not planning on it.

Putt- I wasn't implying that you were. I know where you stand in regards to showcase better than most on here. I just corrected who started it.

You touched on an interesting topic. Where does it evolve from here? But that would be better for another thread

As it should be. The priority should always be on the education and to relate that to scholarships, there is much more $$ available through academics than baseball athletic money. Because this being a sports site, the athletic side is obviously the one most mentioned.

I can tell you as a parent, the day my son receives his degree I will be the happiest man on the face of this earth....much more than any success he achieves from the baseball community.

I do like the way you put it Putt. It is a product and I think most people's problem with the product is one of the market and two what are you paying for. If looked at each showcase team as a product what do they advertise. I mean you see the ad, go to the store and see the product and price, buy it if you wish. Go home taste it. If you do or do not like it you tell others to buy or not. Problem you have the FDA that monitors products. In the case of showcase it is buyer beware.
