    Rowan 13 South Rowan 2

    Rowan starter Cy Young and reliever Tanner Brown allowed only two hits thru 7 innings. Both hits were singles and both runners were picked off first base. South, who was undefeated in the division, mananged two runs on 2 hits late in the game.

    Weston Church was 3-3 at the plate with 2 home runs and a double. He also scored 6 runs.

    Rowan's only loss was in 10 innings to a quality Lexington team Sat. night.

    Garner has fallen to 0-4 on the young season with a 12-inning loss to visiting Wayne County last night.

    No need to worry for Post 232 yet, as in year's past... they start out slow and bond over the season to finish strong.

    There was a real tense moment in this contest when tj21 was announced as the starting Kannapolis second baseman. A collective sigh of relief was breathed when infield-ace Mike Boger took the field and we realized that the PA announcer had made a mistake. :54:
