    The Lake Norman Copperheads defeated the Ballantyne Smokies in the best of three SCBL championship series. Lake Norman won the first game 12-4, Ballantyne won game two by a score of 10-2, and Lake Norman clinched the series with a 5-2 win Sunday night. Great series and a great season by all the teams.. Can't wait till next summer!

    Lake Norman Copperheads 2013 SCBL Champions!!!!

    The top seeded Lake Norman Copperheads defeated the second seeded Ballantyne Smokies Friday night July 26th at Hopewell High School in Huntersville, NC by a score of 12-4 to take a 1 -0 lead in the SCBL Chamiponship series. As it has all season rain played a role in the series washing out Saturday night's scheduled game at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte. That forced the teams to a Sunday double Header at Ardrey Kell starting at 3:00pm. The Ballantyne Smokies roared backed in the first game to level the series at one game apiece by defeating the Copperheads 10-2 and forcing a 3rd game. The Championship game was a great game by both teams and the Copperheads prevailed 5-2 to give Lake Norman the Championship sweep winning both the regular season Championship and the Tournament Championship signified by the Jeffers Cup.
