I am a rising junior, ace pitcher for this school. 13-3 career record 3.25 era, school records. Can anyone give me some good advice on how to go about getting recruited because we are a small private school in the NCCSAA 3-A west district and it's hard to get your name out there. Can anyone recommend some good camps and showcases to go to where there are college scouts at?

Woody, I live in Winston too, so I'm familiar w/ Salem. I'm curious if you've played any form of travelball yet (Legion baseball or AAU)?

Legion teams have tryouts in May. I'm not certain which team would be yours, but I suspect it would be West Forsyth or Kernersville.

The North Carolina Baseball Academy has travel teams made up of local kids associated with them. If you are good enough to play for them, it will be costly $$. So you need your Parents to be on board with this. Call them (ask for Scott Bankhead) & inquire about when they will have tryouts for your age. Here's a link: http://www.ncbaseball.com/main/

There are a lot out there. Some are just travel teams. Be sure to have mom and dad looking with you. This can get fairly costly. Check to see what you are getting. Charlotte Heat as a good program and is getting ready for thier fall season. http://www.charlotteheatbaseball.com/ her is their website. Go to their contact list and email them. They have about six or so planned. Good Luck

    woody,

playing fall ball and travel ball for one of these teams is a very good way to get yourself out there. Another very good option is to go to a few schools showcase camps. The best in terms of players actually being recruited from it is Belmont abbey's. you can contact kermit smith or chris anderson. For the past two years they have put on a showcase that had about ten different schools represented and several of the players were recruited after the showcase was over.

this is a good place to start

I've played travel ball(AAU,USSSA) since the age of 8, for the carolina power, carolina tigers,Kernersville Cardinals,North Carolina Cardinals, NC Baseball Academy. I quit playing with the NCBA 2 years ago when the team broke up and I haven't played anything but school ball since.

Elon also has a well attended camp that gets a lot of recruiting attention.
