Sad Day for South Lenoir & Post 43

    Last night while playing at Ahoskie, the Kinston Post 43 players and fans heard the heartbreaking news that 2 South Lenoir students, Taylor & Katlyn Humphrey were killed in a wreck on the way to visit family in Florida. Their parents and sister were also injured, but have since been released from the hospital.

    Both Taylor & Katlyn were members of the South Lenoir Blue Devils athletic program and were active in the community. Words cannot describe the hurt being felt by the South Lenoir family and Kinston Post 43.

    The Ahoskie players, parents & fans were very caring and compassionate at the end of the game, offering words of prayer from Ahoskie's chaplain.

    Please keep everyone, especially the family in your prayers!

    heard this news towards the end of our game last night as well. my thoughts and prayers go out to the humphrey family during this very difficult time.
