Sad and Sobering Article

    I thought it was cool - the player being traded for bats - somehow making a statement to the roots of the game, but the story's ending definitely turned sad.....

    I guess his story is a testimony as to how difficult the game can be..... and how not funny "jokes" can be. Even though the player apparently had some demons in his history, he found a way to play the game he evidently loved to play.

    The "sticks and stones" may be a great concept, in reality, it's a far harder thing to live by....

    Maybe we can remember this guy the next time we are shouting our "good natured pokes" at the opposing team's players and maybe, just maybe, we will think twice and decide to bite our tongues instead....
