To open the scoring William Barringer doubled and was driven home by a Brian Goodwin single (also had a double in game)

Ben Fish for RM has a two run home run and Chris Berry has an rbi double

I am headed out to field for lunch and watch some of the game instead of getting these cell phone updates so next update will be in about an hour or so.

NC took a 2 -0 lead in the 3rd inning on an rbi base hit by Bradley Scott and an error. SN stormed back in the home half of the 5th scoring 5 runs on a 2 rbi single by Brad Garris and an rbi double by Brett Allen along with a two run error. Game being played in a constant mist and chill.

SN scores two more to make it 7-2 and it is now top of the 7th and NC has the bases loaded no outs and Xavier Macklin at the plate.....Xman walks so NC scores the 3rd run of the game. Blake Gosselin now at the plate....Soph Kyle Shields relieves senior Jesse Mercer and strikes out Gosselin but then Tyler Mizzelle doubles in two runs making it now 7-5 with the tying run at second. Ground ball to ss is thrown over the 1st basemans head and the game is now tied 7-7....Bill Clark coming to the plate and runner advances to second and takes 3rd on a wild pitch......Bill Clark steps in the bucket and strikes out.

AJ Andrews grounds to ss and the ball is thrown in the dirt and skips past the first baseman as the go ahead run scores. 8-7 lead for Nash Central.......walks to Dominique Holloway and TJ Taylor load the bases with Alex Pearce coming to the plate.....

End of inning on 3 strikeouts BUT the bulldogs score 6 to take an 8-7 lead moving to the bottom of the 7th....

Xman on the mound for Nash Central trying to get the win. two out and Doug Pace doubles.....a two out walk and Pace steals 3rd base......Brad Garris ties the game with a single......acore 8-8 and the crowd is going nuts.....a fly ball error in right center on a ball hit by Kyle Shields wins the game for the Firebirds by a score of 9-8. Shields gets credit for the win in relief. Bulldog fans are stunned.

Northern Nash leads 1-0 after 2 innings Steve Moore walked and scored on a wild pitch.

Fort Mill ties the game on base hit by Garrett Copeland in the top of the fourth.

still a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 6th.....

walks to Carey Sharpe and Tyler Joyner have runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 outs and the batter is Parker Stallings who has already tripled in the game....ball in the dirt Sharpe goes to 3rd......Stallings swings and misses SO we go to the 7th inning in a tie game....


We are one out away from going into extras.....................................Steve Moore at the plate fo NN he walks so that will bring up Justin Shannonhouse.....Moore delays and steals second base.......full count on Moore......FOLKS we have our first free innings of baseball coming up as Shannonhouse hits a dribbler back to the mound for the last out of regulation.......stay tuned

Jim Leggett and Tyler Joyner are the expected starters in a rematch of an earlier game this year

Apparently Joyner not starting was a surprise to everyone except the Northern Nash folks. Joyner's dad said he never heard that Tyler was starting. When he did get in the game last night, he was as good as I have seen him this year. Joyner definitely has another gear when he wants it.
