This was a good game and fun game to watch!! Was a very close game going into the 5th inning when Person's bats came alive. Very well officiated game also!!!
Person will play Northern Nash at 5opm Monday weather permitting. If games are washed out tommorrow they will move forward to Tuesday and Wednesday to finish the tournament.

It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. We played well enough to win, but we left too many runners on base. Robbie Byrd (JR/RHP/SS/OF) earned his 2nd win of the season and went 2-3 (HR,2B,4RBI). Jerrod Moore went 3-3, Blake Bowes 2-3, Blaine Newton 2-4 (RBI). Gary Utley pitched well in 2.2 innings of relief and Soph LHP Elliott Tolley earned his first save on 3 pitches.

Northern Nash 9, Person 2

Northern Nash outplayed Person in this semi-final game as the Knights won 9-2. The Rockets committed 7 errors and Northern Nash RHP Jefrey Matthews (SR/RHP) allowed only 3 Rocket hits and had 9 K's in 5 IP. My hat is off to Al Carter and his team, which came out and played well while we didn't. Northern Nash also has an outstanding Catcher in Bryan Braswell (JR/C)who was cnsistently 2.0 in pop times to 2B. Braswell went 3-4 with a 2B and 3 RBI's.

Southern Nash took 7th place over Nash Central 11-2

South Granville took 5th place over Roanoke Rapids 3-2(Chris Luck doubled in the bottom of the 7th to plate the winning run)

Rocky Mount wins the tourney for the first time since 1997 with a 5-2 win over Northern Nash.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of the Person, and South Granville supporters for making the long trek three days to support your teams ,and our tournament. We really enjoyed some quality baseball during the tournament. Good luck the rest of the season. I look forward to keeping up with you all on TBR.
