My daughter sent me a link to a couple youtubes somebody put together for Ragsdale.

I watched these last Friday just before I walked out the door for the first game of the season. Pretty good way to get pumped up for another great year of football. Heck even if you aren't a fan they should get you pumped.

This one is a preview/scrimmage highlights for this year

(#42 is the son of our very own one putt) - He is just one of the defensive leaders on this team. He and Billy Stone #55 make a great team. The whole starting D-Line is back from last year and they are tough to run on. This team is really close as they were last year. It's obvious the way they play together.

This one here is from last season and many of the pics are from the Dudley playoff game. Not sure who put this together but they did a great job.

I'll try to post some pics as the season goes on. Here are a couple from the first game.

Braves you'll be interested in #15. That's Desean Anderson - heading to the Gamecocks for baseball. He's a heckuva athlete.

#85 is Teyquan (Tutu) Roberts. Starting power forward on the basketball team and damn good. 6'5" and only a junior. First year playing football and this pic was his first catch. That looks like a mini football in his hand. Tacklers bounced off him for 28 yards on that catch. I think he's going to play baseball too :8: I bet he can mash one.

    Ragsdale 18 Dudley 8

    :cool2:

what an awesome ball game. Scoreless first quarter. Lots of defense and hard hits. Looked like Ragsdale had Dudley stopped 4th and 15 from the 16 but on that play, second of the second quarter Dudley lofted a pass into the corner of the endzone for a TD and an 8-0 lead. Ragsdale got a score right back two plays later as Luke Heavner found a streaking Desean Anderson down the side line for an 82 yard TD with 10:17 left in the half. Ragsdale went for two, no good so it was 8-6 Dudley.

Ragsdale got the ball back and with a couple big conversions by Luke Sonricker and Desean Anderson and a run by Heavner driving down the field. Ragsdale had a hard time running on Dudley all game but D'onovan Smith found a hole up the middle and scored from 12 yards out. 2 point PAT no good so it was 12-8 with 4:01 in the half. With about 2:15 in the half Chris Armwood picked off the Dudley QB. Ragsdale drove but stalled and Kasey Redfern just missed a 44 yard FG attempt as the half ended.

Second half was pure smashmouth football, at least by Dudley anyway. Ragsdale took the kickoff and moved the ball well, mostly on nice throws by Heavner but Dudley held and Redfern punted Dudley down to the six yard line. Thats when smashmouth took over. Dudley pounded the ball down the field eating up the right side of Ragsdale's line as Dudley kept running #1 left play after play, eating up most of the third quarter clock. Ragsdale held though turning Dudley over on downs at the ten. But one play and Dudley got the ball back as Heavner fumbled on a hit at the seven. Dudley took it down to the half foot line as the quarter expired and the rain started coming down harder.

Fourth quarter, first play, Dudley 4th and goal from the goal line and Ragsdale stuffed them. Neil Jones, Big Cedric Ellison and the whole line and LBs met the ball carrier and stood him up. Biggest play of the game from a defense that played awesome. Ragsdale was able to move it out a little but had to punt the ball away to about mid-field. Dudley really couldn't move the ball and had to punt it away - they tried a fake but Ragsdale snuffed it out so they quick kicked it away.

From there Ragsdale put it away driving across mid field and finally getting the put away score as Heavner found Sonricker down the right side for a 36 yard TD. Wet ball slipped away from the holder so the PAT was no good again. But Redfern put another kick into the endzone and Dudley ran out the clock.

Just an awesome game all around by Ragsdale. The defense held most of the night just giving up the one score in the corner of the end zone. Everybody played well but big props to #50 Trey Grimes a soph linebacker who was making big hits all over the place. Like Ragsdale needed another linebacker to go with Stone and Sparks.

Big plays carried Ragsdale tonight. Heavner was 9-17 (unofficially) for 239 yards and two TDs. Desean Anderson had 6 catches for 156 yards and a TD and Luke Sonricker caught two for 82 yards and a TD. And I can't say enough for D'onovan Smith who ran for 69 tough yards on 19 carries and a TD. Defense was once again a total team effort. They took Dudley's best shot and hit right back all game long.

2-0 with a road game at Western Guilford next week.

no problem. This team is even more fun to watch than last years team. If they can keep the injury bug away no telling how far they can go.

Last week's game was one helluva game. 48 minutes of hitting Dudley like this

    Week Three - Western Guilford

Ragsdale takes a 24-0 lead at the half on the road and cruises to a 34-7 win.

Not a ton of offense for the Tigers tonight mostly because Ragsdale started most of their possesions around the fifty yard line. Ragsdale scored on Western's first possesion as Walt Sparks picked off a third down pass and took it 25 yards down the side line for a 7-0 lead.

Ragsdale wouldn't score again until around the 10 minutes mark n the second quarter on a 42 yard Kasey Redfern FG. Ragsdale turned another interception ( Darius McQueen) into points on a Luke Heavner run from around the three. One last score on a four yard run by D'onovan Smith made it 24-0 at the half.

Ragsdale got a TD in the third on a 15 yard pas from Heavner to Desean Anderson and closed out the scoring on a 48 yard Redfern FG in the fourth. Redfern has turned into quite a weapon. Every kickoff into the end zone. Had long punt downed at the four and the two long FGs.

The reserves played the fourth and Western got a TD pass with about four minutes left to ruin the shut out.

Another good win for Ragsdale. Defense dominates, special teams make plays and the offense scores from all areas. I don't have many stats. Smith had around 85 yards and a TD. Heavner had about 90 yards passing with a TD pass, a TD rushing. Three interceptions for Ragsdale tonight.

Huge game against 3-0 Page next week in Jamestown. That will draw a huge crowd and a lot of hype. Probably another top ten showdown
