Privates vs. Publics for next year

    anyone read the article in todays observer? about how the 4 charlotte area private schools have adopted the new 8 semester rule. that allows private schools to play all area public schools. That meens that a team like Charlotte Christian could play a South Meck or Providence in the regular season next year rather than only in a spring break tournament. i dunno but you guys but thats exciting! those games would draw some crowds

    It doesn't allow it yet, but it opens the door. There still has to be a decision made on the public school side to see if they are willing.

    I think they will open the doors to public-private play, but it may be slower than people like. Schedules are frequently made out well in advance. The privates have more flexibility since they aren't under a game/year limit like the publics.

    By next year, we should be seeing a few of these games start to happen.
