Pitt County schools in playoffs

    4A- Conley defeats Rose to play in Eastern finals

    3A-South Central in semis trying to get to finals

    1A- Farmville Central defeats Princeton to go to eastern finals

    That's 4 out of 6 teams in Pitt County that were playing in Eastern Semifinal games. Two, maybe three, will advance to eastern finals. Not too shabby.

    Can you give me a description of the Conley team? I know they have Edens as their horse and assume he would throw game #2 or #3 depending on outcome of #1. Is White healthy and ready to pitch? Who are their top hitters? Are they strong behind the plate?

    Conley has done a great job of pulling themselves up after really struggling about mid season when they lost White for pitching. Aubry Edens has just been outstanding lately. I guess you'd have to single out Edens, and White as their better players, but they are just solid top to bottom. I think they've hit about 20 homers this year, with several guys getting into that act. Landis Wilson does a great job behind the plate. I guess the big thing for Conley is everyone is capable of contributing.
    Also, South Central made it to the eastern finals beating West Carteret in extra innings.
