.....with all due respect to following Preps/NL protocal, I'm watching the college world series, the pitcher steps out of the lane, just barely, ....bam! illegal pitch.......so the announcers comment, no BS,..."she's outside the lane and its up to the base umpire to call that. A few times the homeplate ump will call it, but not often" not verbatum but dog gone close.

Give TBR the skinny on what umps call what, in HS/TB/NL:fishing:

    Thanks,

    Fish

fishbuddy, my dd has had that called on her plenty. but, it was only called by the umpire behind her, never by the plate umpire and only when the ump was at second/ss position. it was a heck of a curve ball when she did it.

They're not calling the UCLA pitcher who is way out of the lane bottom of 4th.

    anyway

that second pitcher #3 for Ariz. looked like she didn't really care to be out there pitching. Just my impression of her expressions and body language.

Ariz. may come back. Tough team, like their coach..

    sorry about that

don't think that Zona will come back this time.

reminds me of 10U rec ball back in the day when you just had those games sometimes that needed to get finished as soon as possible for everyone's sake.

not a good final championship game for ESPN.

my how fastpitch has changed. 14-4??? huh?

I'm just baffled why they tormented Fowler with illegal pitch calls and not one against UCLA this game. She's out of the lane almost a foot most pitches. And that is an advantage.

Sorry to get OT, but I can tell you guys are watching the game tonight and posting....

I guess UCLA settled the debate between hitters and pitchers. Whether your putting on a hitting clinic or tied 0-0, eventually one of the pitchers breaks down and someone breaks through on offense and it's game over.

I'm not trying to stress the unimportance and value of good pitching, because without a pitcher and catcher you don't have a team. But without hitters you can't score runs or get to the next level.

You would think that 9 runs would be enough to win a WCWS game.

To honor the Next Level guidelines I started a thread, WCWS, in the Next Level.

Give your opinion there. I think the one-sided officiating gave UCLA an advantage.

The only Umpire Manual I have is ASA, but they don't usually differ too much:
