I am hosting a travel team tournament at Historic Municipal Stadium in Tarboro this weekend. A couple of teams could use some pitchers/players. If you are interested in playing please email me at [email protected] High School age players only. This will be a fun event at a neat ballpark.

Tar River Cats led by Nash County Stars

Many thanks to the following players for volunteering to play this weekend:

Rocky Mount HS: Jim Leggett, Ben Fish, Dillon Cockrell, Gabe Brown
    Northern Nash HS: Wesley Joyner
Nash Central HS: Alex Pearce, Blake Gosselin
    Southern Nash HS: John Sherrod

Congrats to the Tar River Cats for going 3-1 and winning the tournament. Fish, Leggett-Win, Joyner and Pearce played for them. Alex Pearce tossed a complete game in the championship game over the Capital City Cubs as the Cats won 5-2 in extra innings. Cockrell-Win, Brown-Win, Gosselin and Sherrod played for the Cubs. The Tarboro Tigers also went 3-1 in the tournament led by pitcher Drew Davis with 2 wins and a save. NOTE: Steve Johnson of South Johnston HS had a win and a 3 run bomb in one of the Cats wins. A special thank you to Coach 27 for stopping in Raleigh and picking up the baseballs and bringing them to Rocky Mount on his way to the football playoff game Friday night.
