I have always paid closer attention to pitches per inning. A couple of 25 pitch innings and you are done no matter the total.

    Agree

I agree thats a very excellent way to look at it. Pitches/Inning. Do you use a pitch count total or stay on line with a pitch/inning approach as the bases for monitoring pitcher performance?

    Weighted baseballs

Sorry But I don't like them. Seems like an "easy" way to get there. Again, as was already said, they(weighted baseballs) may be viewed in some circles, as the "weight room" for throwers.

So many folks cannot/do not use weighted baseballs properly. Typically they(the throwers) are not supervised properly. There just simply is not enough time to "coach" when players are throwing them.

Use of weighted baseballs for throwing improvement takes concentrated efforts by the trainer and trainee.

I would apply the same argument for using bats that are heavy. For instance, "...use a heavier bat that you are use to so that the bat you use on game day feels lighter..." We do this in the batters box before we go to the plate right? However we still have to hit with the bat that we hit with how many times in practice?

Perhaps some folks have developed focused and coached throwing routines where weighted baseballs are used properly. If so please share.

Not trying to knock anyone here just trying to generate discussion on a subject that might need various opinions and/or expertise of which I might likely be or more than likely be uneducated on.
