How much do you practice this, both on the offensive and defensive sides?
Interesting occurrences from this past weekend at a college series. In one game, the same player was picked off twice at first base (by 2 different right-handed pitchers).
The second time he was picked off, the previous runner at 1st base was also picked off in the same inning!...............so 3 pickoffs on the same team at first base in the same game, and 2 straight in one inning, all by right-handed pitchers.

Somebody needs to go study or wake up. Pick off moves can be good. I think we would all agree that left's have the advantage. But, rightys. That many times is a misread on someones part. Player or coach. Remember the old saying pick me once shame on me, pick me twice somebody else needs to be off the field.

I know many teams practice running every day that they practice. They teach leads and secondary leads.

But this one player on one particular team was the lead off hitter....everybody prayed he hit at least a double because anything less was an automatic pick off or throw out....every game! A good kid, but absolutely the worst base runner I ever saw in my life...and his team practiced baserunning. It's the old cliche; you can lead a horse to water.....
