    2) what % of college players play in minor leagues?

    3) what % of minor leaguers play in the major leagues?

    US?

    are the #'s shown on that website inclusive of foreign players, or is it only U.S. kids?
    obviously there are a lot of non-U.S. players in MLB.

    5 Minor Leaguers in 100 play in the show. 1 in 100 actually sticks.

    Because I really don't know that I'm asking this question.

    So, 99% of MLB players at the Show (that stick) have not played college ball? WOW!!!.. that's an alarming number

    watched a ml game the other night, dont remember who it was, but the commentator stated that this team takes 99% of their minor league players out of hs and brings them along their way. also went on to state that this system meant less time in the minors for most players????

    Braves, that's not what i meant. i'm saying that from the minors (regardless of whether they got there straight from hs or after college) that 5 in 100 make it to the bigs for an at least 1 AB or 1 IP and 1 in 100 stick.

    Granted, i don't have the numbers but i'm sure the lions share of big leaguers came from hs. at least they did in the past. now it's changing some. don't sell the pro scouts short. they know when an 18 year old "projects" and when he doesn't. and when in doubt they can wait 3 more years to see how it pans out for the rest of them.
