Parker Thomas to UNC

    Impact Baseball has announced that 2009 RHP Parker Thomas has verballed to UNC. I also understand that Parker is a tremendous football player as well. Parker attends Mount Tabor HS. Congrats Parker!!

    Congrats to Parker, John and Ginger. The Tarheels are getting an outstanding young man. We look forward to the rest of the summer and this fall.

    Coach, I've not seen Parker pitch yet. Is he likely to be drafted next year if he throws 90+ consistently?

    He certainly

    has a lot going for him. A lot will depend on how he develops from now up to the draft next June. He has tremendous physical attributes and projects to be a great pitcher. I think its a little eary on the draft status. He throws very hard and should be a force next hs season for Mount Tabor. Where will his velo be next spring? How will his command of his off speed be next spring? Too early to tell. But there is no doubt the kid is very very talented. UNC got a great player and a wonderful young man in Parker.
