the Palmetto Express have been added to the Black division. There are 5 very good teams in this bracket. The Express are a real good squad out of Columbia, SC. The Carolina Clippers have a solid team as well. This should be a very fun weekend with some good competition. The tournament opens friday night at myers park when the On Deck 17's battle the On Deck 18's at 6pm. does anyone have a complete schedule that can be posted?

    On Deck 18's 8; On Deck 17's 3

it was a 5-3 game up until the 7th and the 18's put up 3 runs to seal it. Rocketcharlie (myers park) gave up 4 runs in the 1st but then settleed down, layman (south) gave up a HR to mcverry (christian) to bring the 17's within 2. the 18's tact on a another run to make it 5-2, and kirkpatrick's (christian) rbi single made it 5-3. then in the top 7th the guy from asbrook, catcher/1B, hit a 2 rbi double to make it 8-3. that same guy had 4 rbi's, had a great game. hill (christian) came in in the 7th to close the door on the 17's and make it final.

the O's 17's play the express tom. @ 10am and again play that night @ 8pm at MP. not sure what the 18's schedule looks like, but the schedule above has left some games out

    Carolina Reds 6, Team Charlotte 3 ...

Young teams (Mostly 16 year olds). Late night game, starting to get cool, a little damp ... led to a few more pitches that you wanted and a few more errors than desired for both teams.

Game ended after 5 innings due to the 2 HR time limit. Pitchers for both teams looked very good for the most part but both struggled with control in spots in the damp night air. The young lefty pitcher from Myers Park who started for the Carolina Reds looked particularly good. He's definitely got an idea of what to do with the ball on the mound. Never heard a name for him.

Jason Place, from the Palmetto EXpress, out of Wrenn HS in SC is one of the best juniors in the country. hes committed to USC, yes, south carolina. hes got the most power ive ever seen from a kid his age. he hit 3 bombs today, one, over CF at myers park which is 404ft that cleared the fence by a good bit. hes a great hitter and is fun to watch, anyone else have any details on him?

I know him well. He's from Easley, SC. He played last weekend down at the WWBA for one of the Perfect Game teams. Saw him hit an opposite field blast with wood down there. Though a Junior, he's verbaled to USC.

DeAngelo Mack, Senior, Carolina Clippers is another USC Commitment for the OF. He hit 3 dingers yesterday at MP, one Left Center that cleared by a good margin. Campbell, the 2nd baseman from the Palmetto Express hit two out in one game yesterday, 1 into the creek behind the field at MP.

DeAngelo Mack (USC), Jason Place (USC), Michael Cavasinni (UNC - North Mecklenburg) and Chance Gilmore (Playing for Impact this year- committed to Univ of Virginia) were the outfield for the Diamond Travelers last year.
