    Just wanted to see what the group thinks about conferance player(s) of the year. Is it a shout out to players that have played game in game out? Or a stat contest? Or maybe a hitter or pitcher contest? These awards are from the coaches. How much does the bigger teams over ride the small team player s? Do them go by position (like an allstar team) ? What is your take?????

    Conf POY

    IMO it should go to the player that has had the biggest impact on the conference race. Usually this award will go to a player on the team that wins the conference. Some conferences have a pitcher of the year and a player of the year. Our conf just has a POY. Did a guy pitch all the tough conf games and win them? Did a posistion player come up huge for his team in the big games at the plate and in the field? Its usually a pretty simple deal imo. Most of the time there are only a couple of guys that can lay claim to POY in a conference.
