It's starting to heat up in this conference with some recent upsets and teams battling for playoff seeds. It's been proven that anyone can be beat on any given night. You have the 6th ranked team (East Burke) in the conference only losing by 1 to the top team that is ranked in the nation (South Caldwell). All-American pitchers are getting hit and teams are scrapping for W's. Watauga defeated an outstanding pitcher in Runion and then ACR turns around and gets 5 runs and a W against a 1st round MLB draft pick, while Watauga gets 10 runned by Alexander. Crazy things are starting to happen. ANYWAYS...

*If Alexander defeats South on Tuesday and AC Reynolds beats McDowell then AC Reynolds will take the #1 seed since they beat Alexander twice and South only beat them once. That could be surprising.

*Alexander Central has clinched the #3 seed in the conference no matter what happens with AC and South or the #4 seed.

*Watauga is the #4 seed with the Freedom loss tonight, unless Freedom, East Burke, or McDowell wins the conference tournament. If that happens then Watauga will be knocked out of the playoffs.

*What is probably going to happen is:
#1 - South Caldwell will likely face Weddington
#2 - AC Reynolds will likely face Myers Park
#3 - Alexander Central will face #2 seed in the Big South Conference (Don't know standings)
#4 - Watauga will face the #2 seed in the Queen City Conference (Don't know standings)

It will be interesting to see who stays in the playoffs the longest because those teams out of Charlotte will give the Western teams a challenge. You can't overlook anyone in the state playoffs because anyone can win. Good luck to all.

    Is that correct?

I'm not 100%, but I though that if the 2 top teams are tied with record and split in head to head, they are declared co-champions, and the conference tournament then decides the #1 seed for the playoffs.

Using the method you mentioned doesn't make sense when you can say the same for ACR splitting with Watauga ans SC beating them twice.

The tiebreaker is determined by which team beat the next highest seed the most. ACR wouldve beaten them twice and if South loses they would've beat them once so ACR would get 1st.

They will be co-conference champions- anytime you tie that is the result. However ACR would get the #1 seed going into the conference tourney and whoever advanced further would be the #1 seed in the playoffs.
