    we'll see

yeah like i said before its not impossible but this will definitely be wataugas toughest game of the year.. how watauga does against reynolds will tell alot of how they will prolly do against ac in 2 weeks cause both are without a doubt the 2 best defenses in the conference. Good to hear the QB played well last week but he'll have to do it again to give EB some help.

I will stick with my earlier prediction of Reynolds winning 35-7. Watauga will have to find a way to move the ball other than just pounding Brietenstein on the ground. In fact that is what will happen, he will get pounded. No doubt, the kid is the player of the year in the NW4A, but Breitenstein will not run wild on the Rocket Defense. I see Watauga ending the regular season with 2 losses, to AC Raynolds, and to Alexander Central.

Did I hear correct? Freedom had 8 turnovers and 15 penalties against AC Reynolds and still made a game of it....

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Did you also hear ACR had 4 turnovers, 80 yards in penalties, and 5 starters not playing? Not making excuses, Freedom played well and ACR....well didn't play so well, but with the defense missing 3 starters and the offense missing 2 it's tough.

Does that mean 8 turnover and 15 penalties are correct?

Oh yeah, we intercepted 6 passes and recovered 2 fumbles, and those 15 penalties only amounted to 100 yards....just 20 more yards then our 7 penalties amounted to. ;) I think our guys might have been looking ahead a little as well waiting for Watauga, but take nothing away from Freedom they played pretty well, minus the turnovers and penalties!

Who is injured and how serious. I know there were some of the Rockets nicked up in the game against Alexander Central. Hope all are going to be ok.

Nothing too serious, couple sprained ankles and should return this week, one missed for "team" reasons, and will be back also. All in all I think 4 of the 5 will be back for sure and the last one (ankle) will be a game time decision.

i dunno if i can predict the outcome of the game, but all this BS about AC holding bstein to 35 yards is a bunch of bull.

eric has run over every team they have played, and the harder the competition has gotten, the yardage increases.

Strangely enough, Watauga continues to get no respect, despite their record. While I firmly believe that respect has to be earned, I'm not sure what more this team could have done to this point to have earned it.

The schedule is what it is, and can't be changed. The the simple fact of the matter is, they've beaten all comers, including Freedom, which many on this board wrote in as a Watuaga loss.

Eric Breitenstein is one of the top 5 running backs in the state and is in fact one the best all-around HS football players I've ever seen (he also leads the team in tackles). His running skills are augmented by a pretty darn good offensive line, a couple of decent QBs, a couple of good receivers. The Watauga defense is well above average. Above all, this group has heart, (yea, I know, blah blah blah ... but they have in fact come from behind in more than one game) they don't quit. Overall, this is a very good football team.

On the other hand, I think it's unlikely that the Pioneers can handle a "big league" team like AC Reynolds on the Rocket's home field. The obvious fact is that Watauga has only one "premium" level athlete while Reynolds has several. I'm reasonably certain that no one in this group has ever played in front of the type of crowd I expect to see at the game Friday night.

What I expect though, given the quality of this team, is that they will compete well enough to earn a little more well deserved respect, even in the event of a loss.

    Reynolds - 28
    Watauga - 20
    Breitenstein - 175 yds
