This post was recently made on the USSSA Message Board. I kid you not! So get in on the ground floor!

I won't tell you the team or location but the posting went on to recruit 7 year olds from about a 100 mile area! I can see steam coming out of the ears of a few of our regulars.

The 7u Xxxxx Xxxxxx's are looking for 2 strong 7u players to complete our roster. Our goal is to build an elite team for the future. We plan to play mainly kid pitch, but we will also play a few coach pitch tournaments as well next season.

PS) What does a "strong" 7 year old look like anyway? How would I know one if I saw him?

Tell them get ready. I was just about ready to post tryouts for a new showcase team for the state of NC no outside players want to keep it with the home state guys for now. we would be known as.......
    The Carolina Dirty Diapers
Age group was going to start at 18 months and under. Thought, we would play a few 7U & 8U tourneys move up to scrimmage some JV high school teams across the state. We are looking at the goal to battle some strong 09 showcase teams mid summer. Working on the uniforms now. Any takers on dugout moms?

Its been going on for a long time now

I saw a post four or five years ago like this. It was a NC USSA team looking for top 8 year olds for a travel team. They even had a post about playing in a wood bat tourney and going to a National Championship event later in the year. I saw a post on another site a few months ago about the top ranked 10 year old players in the nation. There were people argueing about who made the list and who was left off. Pretty darn crazy stuff.

Before you know it there will be a Red Sox Scout Team for 10 years olds coming to your town. Hey dont laugh. Anything is possible.
