The "DII, DIII,JUCO" thread on this message board sparked my recollection that I'd seen a thread on the High School Baseball Web about some new NCAA regulations that toughen the course standards for transfer to a Division I school.

In the thread's first post, there's a link to an article describing the new regulation; and, then, there's a lot of subsequent commentary on the thread.

If you're thinking about beginning your college baseball experience at a junior college, this new rule makes it more important than ever to research the extent to which your chosen junior college's academic curriculum "marries up" with that of the Division I schools that are of interest to you after your junior college experience.

It sounds like some good research on the front end will help you avoid a dead end two years later.

    Careful!

You must make satisfactory progress in JUCO carrying at least the mimimum load 0f 12 hours! Likewise sat progress means ALLLL c's and better the better the better!!!! Also EXPECT not ALL of your classes/courses to be transferable especially if they are BS courses!?!? They must be in line with DI requirements and school admissions reqs! In most instances regardless u probably are looking at being a part of the 4 1/2 plan! Leaves you a semester at the end to get prepared for a grad assistant in coaching at your school>??????????
