Any news on the pairings?? The Lexington team was told to be at their field at 4:30 tomorrow. If they are going to Stanly Co, they will leave immediately. If Mocksville, then they will hang around a while.

This is ridiculous. I can only imagine how idiotic it must be for South Rowan or Wilkes.

If the rules are not crystal clear (& obviously they are not), the only fair thing to do would be to have Wilkes & S Rowan square off in a play-in game. 2 of 3 seems extreme because you would burn your pitching & have no chance against Rowan. Also the first round must be complete by next Friday (I think). Seems simple to me.

Uk7Dook3, the rules ARE crystal clear. Unfortunately 2 different folks can look at a single picture and they may see 2 completely different things.

When questions about the playoffs arise this late, a playoff series or even a single playoff game is simply out of the question because each playoff round must be completed by a certain date. If South Rowan & Wilkes played a playoff game, it would cut in on the times allotted for 1st round games (in this case) involving Rowan County. These first round games are best 3 of 5, but in case of rain, they could be reduced to 2 of 3, or in extreme wet weather, they could be reduced to a single game.

Rowan County is NOT going to allow anything to cut in on their first round dates,,,,, I assure you. This is not Rowan's problem and they don't want it to affect them in ANY MANNER (can't blame them for that). So there's simply no time for an extra playoff in this situation.

Again, unfortunately things like this are determined by a ruling.

Look at it this way, at least it didn't come down to flipping a coin. Coin flips are terrible ways to end someone's season (I think). Whether you agree with the decision or not, I would rather someone make a decision and give me a reason instead of flipping a dern quarter...
