When we started this board we thought that the direction we would go would be like a bunch of friends going to a restaurant and talking about HS baseball...and that's what we have done. Through this board I have met countless number of new friends and some have become very close friends. I have enjoyed watching the players grow from being prospects to becoming college all stars.

Through this board, we have cried learning about tragedies of some of our youths and to some of our parents. We have laughed about some of the craziness we have seen on and off the fields. We have shared our son's experiences of HS ball, showcase and recruiting. We have put our arms around those that needed comfort...and we have patted the backs of those that deserved it. We have poked fun at each other...we have taken sandbagging to a new level and we have "exposed" certain players that were previously unknown. I'd like to think, through the years, that we have developed a "family"...a TBR family.

To sum up in one word what TBR is....Personality!

Let's try not to get away from this. I'd like to see some of the threads return to conversations....funny threads, asking questions, information, etc.

Not to become a board that just posts scores or "my team is better than yours" or only about the "new kid on the block". All of those things have their place here, but I'd like to see more interaction between posters. Let us know who you are? What are your opinions? What are your questions? Let's meet at tournaments...share ideas.

..and just as important; lighten up, poke fun, joke around with your fellow posters...let's have some fun! Make this board retain it's personality vs becoming just another place to post a message.

It's a cool board...with some cool posters. Let's continue this direction :woohoo:

    Tom,

Only being here about 2 years I still feel very much like a newcomer and remain hesitant to post much.

I think your reminder is a great idea.

I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to watch alot of games around here the last two years on the collegiate and high school level - and I think it is great that the board assists in getting "names out there".

But ultimately - the game is played on the field.

As my dad used to say - "you cant talk the ball out of the park - and you cant strike a guy out with a well written paragraph".

I think your suggestions are right on the mark.

Please say hello to TJ for me and hope all is well with you and yours.

    P

With all of our posters, there is not anybody that can contribute more than you. With your experience with College Select, your contacts with everybody and anybody involved with HS aged players, your experience with the recruiting practices (good and bad), your infinite wisdom with your replies; we are the one's that are at a loss without your participation.

I've been keeping up with D and hope that his opportunities in Indiana are a positive one. Also, I have enjoyed following K with On Deck.

This is the part of the board I like best. Conversations with friends.

    Tom,

Thank you for your kind words.

Things have turned dramatically for D - and fortunately in a positive manner.
Loves the school - the team and the coaches. Having a very good fall and pro interest is beginning in earnest. A very weird journey for him in my opinion - but he is enjoying the journey and is healthy - and that is something we havent seen for quite some time other than during summer collegiate league play

As for K - he is a trip. He is working hard at becoming a better player. Hopefully he will also stop talking so much. LOL

Is it true that TJ is headed up yonder for the summer?

What wonderful news about D. Although his journey has provided some twists, the ending of the story is what counts...plus it reminds me of the old phrase, "good things happen to good people".

Yeah, TJ is heading to Alaska for the summer. Either to find some gold or was it "a pot of gold". Anyway, what he is really looking forward to is catching the huge King Salmon. He was hoping that Michael Taylor (Stanford) would be returning to his team this year, but Michael is going to the Cape. That kid will be a top 20 pick.

It will be the experience of a lifetime fot TJ - I am sure. And hopefully just the beginning of many more to come.

And the competition will be as intense as it gets in summer collegiate baseball.

I dont know what to look forward to more - the spring - or the summer.
    LOL

Please let TJ know that I will be rooting for him - and following him - every step of the way. A great kid - with talent and tenacity IMO.

Great news!! Those fishing stories Mickey and I heard at 100 mph (his mouth :bananalam ) were enough for to call him "Catfish" ...wonder if there are vacancies up there for the summer... :waving: I am glad things are well for TJ!!

BTW... I agree with your comments, I enjoy the chatter alot more than the "my team is better than yours stuff".

Let's keep the personality, It was indeed an honor to finally get to put some names with faces this summer.
