Morton Stymies Nation's Leading Offense ...

    This is a great story that many of you don't know. Andrew Morton at Belmont Abbey had a great year leading Belmont Abbey to the D2 College World Series.

    "Belmont Abbey senior starting pitcher Andrew Morton limited Mesa State-the leading offensive team in NCAA Division II baseball-to just two runs, eight below its average, on seven hits while striking out nine batters in a complete game effort as the Abbey eliminated the Mavericks from the NCAA College World Series with a 9-2 win this evening at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina."

    What makes this story so good is Andrew had no opportunity to play college baseball, until after his remarkable American Legion season and the posts about him on here.

    This is a terrific thread that started to get Andrew noticed...and it ended in this wonderful moment. There is a beautiful story in reading this. I hope you take the time.
