I am suprised nobody in the media is talking about home runs, or more specifically, the lack of them. I heard on ESPN this morning that Ryan Howard hit his major league-leading 37th homer yesterday and there are approx. 25 games left. So the leage leader will be in the low 40s this year, mid 40s if someone gets hot. Thats a far cry from the juiced years when multiple guys were hitting 50. Brady Anderson, anybody.

Amazing, isn't it. It's the way it should be. 50 HR's hit in a year should mean something

Absolutely. I remember in the 70s when George Foster hit 50. The networks covered it daily because nobody had done it in about 20 years.

Ya gotta admit the highlight of this season was Josh's amazing All Star moment. The long ball is still the most exciting moment of a game.

Sabathia threw a no-no today (if the idiot Pittsburgh official scorer sharpens his pencil). I've seen 3 in MLB live (Redlegs Maloney, Seaver, Browning). But my favorite unforgettable memory was Tony Perez's 2 out home run in July, 1971 vs. the Giants that turned the Reds' season around and sent them on to a decade of dominance. The Bomb is da bomb in my eyes...

Just got in from going to the Braves/Nationals game today. What a beautiful Stadium with easy access. Got a pregame ball from Martin Prado and an autograph from Roger McDowell (former Met hero). Great day at the Yard!!!! Got to see a 3 run homer as well.

Anytime you go to a Major League game is a great day! I'm jealous Stretchy, but I was able to go to Turner Field and Citizens Bank Park this year! Always a treat no matter how many times you go! How did you get the ball, did you do it honestly or was food involved as a bribe???????????

Kids at heart at the ballpark

My 21 yr old son kept begging for it during warmups and luckily Martin threw it to him right before he entered the dugout. Of course I was busy getting ready for the tshirt toss and sure enough I was able to snag one. In both cases I was ready to BRIBE if I had to!!!

I was all set to take my family to Atlanta for two Braves games two weeks ago. We got as far as Columbia when we stopped for lunch. While in a Cracker Barrel, our van got smashed into and our tickets got stolen. OUr weekend was ruined and my faith in my fellow man was ruined. Not sure whats worse.

    Fenway

I just got home from Boston. I was able to go with a couple of friends to watch the sox and o's. On Tuesday night we were 5 rows behind the tarp and wednesdays day game we were in the front row behind the sox dugout. I was able to catch a coco crisp foul ball that bounced off something and carammed back towards me.

Fenway is now off my bucket list.

If you haven't been....go. Now. Seriously. Get up from where you are and go!

    Dustin Pedroia is the man
