Middle School Players to Watch

Lets hear it folks. Who are the middle school players that will make some noise in HS in the next couple of years?


Here are two from another thread by Crazecoach.

Breanna Jones (Newton-Conover middle/ Peidmont Storm) is having a very good year even though the middle school team is losing.

Also, Sara VanHorn(Newton-Conover middle/ Denver Dazzle Miller) is doing great this season.

Look for upcoming Lady Cavaliers Taylor Burkhalter and Kayla Shelton. Taylor is an excellent catcher with a great bat and plays TB for Piedmont Storm. Kayla is a pitcher and versitile infielder formerly of the Dirt Dobbers. Great kids (if I do say so myself). Both girls will bring alot to the EB team next year.

 

Well got to give a shout out to some future Raiders and members of the Piedmont Storm. ...Timber Davenport, Taylor Rosenbaum (Spell??) and can't wait to see Karley Harkey throwing that gas up at North Iredell NEXT YEAR.

Taylor Barrineau ( Piedmont Middle )----- From a stock of players, sisters- Courtney-3rd baseman @ Piedmont High School, Britany-Catcher @ Piedmont High School / D1 assignee ( Western Carolina )...this kid will probably be the next arm for Piedmont High School in the years to come. Denver Dazzle 14U


Casey Stegal ( Piedmont Middle )---- This kid has hit 8 out in the last couple of weeks, this kid has got some of the quickest hands I've seen..I see strong DH for college years down the road. Good speed for her size !! Lady Blues 14U

Current 8th graders:
Sarah (Smudcat) Smothers - pitcher with 6 pitches, good speed and movement - good bat - going to Sanderson

Sarah (Doddi) Dodson - pitcher with 6 pitches, good speed, great movement and a change-up that even gets her coaches - great catcher - can play ANY position - very softball savvy - going to Broughton

Diana (DJ Jazzy) Jassman - good first base - tracks a fly ball like you can't believe - good bat with potential to be a great bat (confidence) - going to Sanderson

Claire (Wach-N-Roll) Wach - all 4'10" (stretched out) of her - the definition of an athlete - gritty - tough as nails - just gets it - great defender - very fast - going to Panther Creek

Current 7th graders:
Valerie (Valpo) Guzzo - another pure athlete - can play anywhere on defense including catcher - big bat - good speed

Jessica (Bird) Brustofski - another pure athlete - silky smooth on defense - fundamentally sound - good bat - very, very fast

Tanya (Van Diesel) VanDyk - pitcher with good speed - cannon for an arm - big bat

Tina (don't know her last name although I should) - pitcher for East Garner - this girl brings the heat and has several pitches - BIG bat as well


All of these girls are great teammates, have great attitudes, and have awesome familes behind them.

 

Sara may have broken her foot today sliding into 3rd at the Hornets nest.
