My biggest excuse were those dadgum rocks in the infield, but it made me a better "bad hop" player. Never played on grass until college.

I'd say the biggest reason for errors is lack of concentration.

Some people go with the flip of the glove when going to a ball and that doesn't give you a chance to field a ball that takes a quick hop and goes under your glove. Others field like a helicopter and sit right on top of the ball which gets the ball right under you where you have no where to move your glove instead of using the plane were you field the ball by getting lower to the ground with every step and it keeps your glove out in front of you where you can move your glove and use your body to block the ball if it takes a bad bounce.
And if they would get those darn rocks and uneven spots off the field it would do a little better :D :D

Blame it on the sorry field maitenence crews. They need to get rocks off the field. I say its all bout how hard the hitter hits the ball. If he is hitting scuds all over the infield then he deserves to get to first.
