Garner has a very good program in the Raleigh area, despite what some of these Western folk say ;) but Garner runs a real good legion program and plays a lot of games durin the summer. Other area teams (Cary, Apex... to name a couple) don't seem to play as much, or against tougher competition. North Raleigh Post 297 who plays its home games at Millbrook HS has a very competitive team year-in, year-out. You can bank on seeing Garner and North Raleigh in the Area 1 West Finals just about every summer.

Cary Post 67 - Bulk of roster from Cary, Green Hope
Apex Post 124 - Bulk of roster from Apex, Athens
Garner Post 232 - Bulk of roster from Garner
North Raleigh Post 297 - Millbrook, Wakefield
Raleigh Post 1 - Sanderson, Broughton, Enloe

I love legion ball but sadly, it's not as "big" in this area as it is out west where you are from. Still some very good ball, but you really don't see the "excitement" until the Area 1 West (Durham 508, Durham 7, Roxboro, Cary 67, Raleigh 297, Raleigh 1, Apex 124, Garner 232, Chapel Hill teams, Fuquay, Benson, couple others) Finals. Area 1 Final is always a good series (Area 1 East includes Snow Hill, Wayne County, Pitt County, etc).

    Have fun.

Sanford has Post 382. They also have a Jr. Legion program the past few years thanks to Shawn McNeil, his dad Buddy and of course #9 Charlie Spivey.

:banginghe Don't know how I forgot to mention Sanford. They have a great baseball program down there in Sanford (about 30mins from Cary... probably about 50-60mins from NCSU's campus. Spivey runs a great program in HS down there and the legion program is solid as well. They have an amazing field as well.
