    ORLANDO — Casey Camp went 4-for-5 with a double and three stolen bases to lead Kings Mountain to an 8-0 win over Webster Thomas (N.Y.) on Monday in the Disney Softball Spring Training event.

    Morgan Childers got the win for the Lady Mountaineers (16-1), allowing one hit and striking out 10 in four innings. Haley Barrett pitched the last three innings for the save, surrendering only two hits.

    LaRonda McClain was 4-for-5 with three steals, Jessica Yarbro was 2-for-4 with a double and Childers was also 2-for-4 with a two-bagger.

    Kings Mountain will meet Wall (N.J.) today at 4.

    n The JV team upped its record to 11-2 with a 20-0 pasting of Boston Latin (Mass.) in three innings Monday.

    Angel Watson got the win with no hits allowed and five strikeouts in two innings.

    Jordan Childers, Carmen Scism, Heather Hale and Watson all had two hits. The junior Mountaineers will play Rancocas Valley (N.J.) today.

    KM fast-pitch squads zoom through Florida opposition unscathed

    ORLANDO, Fla. — Morgan Childers pitched a complete game three-hitter while striking out 16 in Kings Mountain’s 4-0 win over Wall (N.J.) Tuesday in the final game of the Disney Softball Spring Training event.

    In two years of play in that tournament, the Lady Mountaineers are 8-0.

    Casey Camp went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI, LaRonda McClain was 2-for-3 and Courtney Tate, Kristyn Funderburke, Kristin Cogdill and Brittany Thornburg all added hits for Kings Mountain, now 17-1 on the aseason.

    The Lady Mountaineers host Saint St. Stephens Monday in a JV/varsity doubleheader starting at 4:30.



    Junior varsity

    The Kings Mountain High junior varsity completed a 4-0 swing through Florida competition with a 6-3 triumph Tuesday against Rancocas Valley of New Jersey.

    Jordan Childers went the first four innings on the mound for the win and Angel Watson closed it out by working the final three innings.

    Kristin Cogdill had a home run and double to pace the junior Lady Mountaineers (12-2) at the plate. Chastity Falls also contributed two hits, including a double, and Kalisha Goodson supplied a triple for the victors.
